If you were a dancer on The Scene or just a fan, we ask that you please help us to spread the word about this web site.  Please tell everyone you know about this site. Also, Dancers and Fans, if you have pictures from THE SCENE please share them with us. We are looking for pictures of dancers, dancers with stars, dancers with Nat Morris or other dancers etc.. The Scene we would like to post your pictures on this web site for the world to see.  We are also looking for pictures from in and around WGPR-TV from 1975 to 1994.


The Scene, a daily dance show that featured many National and Local Guests artists as well as many youngsters from the community was debuted. The show ran for a record 12 consecutive years from 1975 to 1987 and retired as one the most popular and successful shows in the history of WGPR-TV channel 62.

The Scene had a strong loyal following of viewers that grew to include city and suburb, white and Black, the young and the young at heart. Nat Morris, Executive producer and host, provided opportunities for unknown artists, launching many careers that went to national and international fame. The Scene paved the way for all the Detroit local entertainment TV shows that followed and had the impact on Detroit Black Television in much the same way that Soul Train and Don Cornelius had on a national level. 


Soon we will be dedicating an entire page on this site to the history of THE SCENE.  We intend to tell the world about this show that made history in Detroit from 1975 to 1987.  So send us your pictures via e-mail to: thescenedetroit@aol.com, or call Nat Morris 248-968-3674.  We can even arrange for you to bring your pictures to our office, we will scan them so that you can then take your pictures back home with you.  We know how important and how valuable your pictures are to you.  Here's hoping to hear from you
